Phil Langton

Phillip brings over 30 years of experience across a range of financial products, having worked in trustee services, retail, private and investment banking as well as consulting more recently with some of the of the utility providers.

He has held a number of senior roles across the industry in risk and funding, including Chief Risk Officer for Net OTC, head of Treasury Solutions for RBS; Global OTC Portfolio Manager for ABN, European head of collateral at UBS and head of Risk Management for Citibank Private Banking.

Phillip has spent part of his career helping to develop processes and infrastructure around OTC products with vendors and has built up an extensive knowledge base around the risks and issues involved in setting up and managing new and complex derivatives as well as the outsource opportunities available.

Vendor solutions include systemic risk governance, valuation transparency, dispute management, market risk, liquidity, funding costs, stress testing, counterparty risk, internal capital model calculations, compression, collateral optimisation, intraday settlement, clearing platform and transaction reporting.

Whilst originally from the Channel Islands, his work has taken him overseas to New York, Chicago, Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, Locarno, Paris, Brussels, Gibraltar and back to London.

Phillip helped set up the European ISDA collateral forum in 1994 and has worked with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) since 1999, helping to develop new courses and questions for the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ) and has been on the CISI membership committee since 2008
